HSB Turning Torso is a skyscraper in Malmö , Sweden , located on the Swedish side of the Öresund strait. It was designed by the Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava and officially opened on 27 August 2005. The tower reaches a height of 190 metres ( 623 feet ) with 54 stories. Upon completion, it was the tallest building in Scandinavia , the tallest residential building in the EU and the second tallest residential building in Europe, after the 264-metre ( 870 ft )-high Triumph-Palace in Moscow .

The turning torso is fascinating and I simply love the surrounding area with its funny houses. Sadly the tower itself is not accessable since there is flats and office space in there.
Anyway: In the summer you might just go swimming , the Swede's love to jump into the water from the lookout by the sea. If you're not into jumping, just use one of the wooden bridges by the water with the wonderful view on the Öresund Link while swimming. Some coffee places and an ICA Maxi are close by.

This tower looks very unusual - I don't think you'll any similar in any other place. The clearer the sky, the more amazing Turning Torso is.

Besides, there's a fortress-museum not far from the skyscraper with an interesting exhibition and a bistro with delicious Swedish national food. And, there's a park in the same area with an opportunity to have a good picnic.

It is so beautiful there because you have a view like no other and with good weather you can see Denmark. There is also a nice italian coffee place where you can eat the best pastasalad and the best icecream in Malmö. You can't miss it!!!

Nice skyscraper close to downtown Malmö. The neighborhood where the Torso is located is quite quaint as well, with cafés and restaurants, and a promenade where you can take in the sun and see the bridge linking Sweden to Denmark
