Marzili ist the most beautiful open air bath in Switzerland. Nothing better than swimming in the river Aare during a hot sunny day in summer. Just drifting in the river... also on a boat from Thun to Berne

The Marzilibahn, officially the Drahtseilbahn Marzili–Stadt Bern (Funicular Marzili–City of Bern) is a very short funicular in Bern, the capital of Switzerland. Its 105 meters of track lead from the Marzili neighbourhood to the Bundeshaus, the seat of the Swiss federal government and parliament, in the Old City of Bern.

When I went to Bern, I saw a sign that said swimming in the river is dangerous. But then I saw an old lady swimming! So I jumped in!

It was great. Something I will never forget. Hey, just remember to get out of the river before the power dam!

Best place to have a cool bath in Summer! The river is only for experienced swimmers though...
The funicular helps - you can get back up to the city centre without needing to cool down again immediately ;-)
