Oct 22, 2008 Lauterbrunnen is situated at the base of three of the major peaks of the Swiss Alps, Monk, Eiger and the highest, Jungfrau . Head to the top of Europe for the ice palace, the world’s highest post office and cog railway. Definetly a must do, they do a lot of activites such as husky rides and skiing but this is all weather dependent. But there is snow all year round Oct 24, 2008 Had so much fun going up to Jungfraujoch, top of Europe belongs to UNESCO World Heritage of the Swiss Alps. The plateau was a fantastic experience where you can experience blistery wind snow god knows what was the temperature then... Next place which we went all out was Eispalast (Ice palace), beautifully carved figurines ice tunnel was fun freezing negative 35 degree celcius cooooold. Brr.. Toes were almost frozen but still fun! Then... interacting with the sledge dogs the owner was good. Unfortunately they don't work in October till i think about March.. which was a pity.. It would would have been a perfect complete excursion if we were allowed to sledge with the dogs. Not forgetting the scenery while taking the train up to Jungfraujoch, it stops in Harder Kulm Kleine Scheidegg for picture taking of the beautiful majestic mountains. Then it is advisable to take the other way back down to interlaken. This stop at Klein Scheidegg then Schynige Platte, where there is more greens. Sep 26, 2009 Absolutely amazing! Nothing can prepare you for it. The "Top of Europe". It was boiling hot and gorgeous down in Grindlewald and then climbing up on the cog train gradually getting higher and higher to suddenly be faced with snow and huskies and the gorgeous ice palace with the intricate carvings of penguins. Nov 15, 2010 This place is amazing and should be a stop for longer than a few days for the traveler with a wee bit of money .... go try out some sledging in the winter or hike around in the summer. There is so much to see and do. As far as taking the train to 'The Top Of Europe' ... it costs a fair bit.
