Tarangire National Park isone of the least visited of the northern Tanzanian Game parks, allowing the park to keep its wilderness feel.  Situated, approximately two hours drive away from Arusha, Taranguire covers an area 2,850km in size.  Tarangire is most known for its large elephant population, where herds of up to 300 are not uncoming, as well as giant Baobab trees and large Termite mounds.  In the park, the swamps host over 550 different bird species, making it one of the largest bird breeding habitats in the world.

Tarangire is also home to the tree climbing lions and tree climbing pythons.
Getting there:
By road
Tarangire is a easy drive from either Lake Manyara or Arusha.

By air
Chartered flights are available from the Serengeti Plains and from Arusha
