OH, If you like food this is heaven, There are dozens and dozens of all kinds of grilled fish and meat cooked with hundreds of different recipes. you could spend weeks eating there and you still wouldn't be able to taste it all. Having been to Zanzibar twice this is definitely the most interesting place there you aught to taste! it's not only cheap but also delicious. There are couple of dishes (although not surfed on a dish) I as a food lover most sincerly recommend you to taste, such as many fantastic grilled meat and fish dishes like crap or goat, But the best of all has to be the very famous Zanzibar pizza. It may sound western but trust me its not, its the complete opposite. It's some kind of meat pie with eggs and onion spiced with some of the most famous delicious spices from the island and fried in side the pie on pan, i recommend this for the main course but you aught to try the some of the chocolate syrup banana pizza for desert. there are multiple drinks available such as several fruit juices among many fantastic local teas as well as western soda drinks such as coke and fanta, you can probably buy botlewater as well.

bottom line if you ever get the chance to go the Zanzibar, the island of spice, tea and awesome food, regardless of how much you love food, you should not let this night market miss you.

Open air market right by the waterfront.... hundreds of street vendors selling all they caught that day... kind of playing Russian Roulette with your intestines... but fun as hell
