This large park, complete with canals and a lake, is a perfect escape from the hectic Bangkok streets, with the loud traffic reduced to only a quiet roar.

It is a great place to get away from everything, and comes with some vendors that you can buy snacks from.

In the mornings, thousands of Thais flock here for everything from ballroom dancing to yoga, while the afternoons see mostly joggers clogging the park roads.

Lumpini Park is located in the square block sectioned off by Rama IV Road, Ratchadamri road, Sarasin Road and Wireless Road. There are park entrances on all 4 streets.

Go to the Lumpini night bazaar and you will find all of these popular touristic stuff plus some hidden gems, but BARGAIN! Sometimes they will ask for an ammound 5 times larger than what they're are actually willing to take for the item. The CDs are of good quality, but the little paper lamps won't work almost anywhere else but in Thailand, because if the electricity and the type of bulbs they are ment to work with. Try the sea food in one of the restaurants and some Thai beer :) Enjoy the mucis from the live performaces at the very entrance of the bazaar
