Cultural Museum
This museum displays a number of intricately ornamented royal barges dating back to the Ayutthaya period when boats were most commonly used for travel.  The barges are enormous, and would have included rowing crews of 50 or more men.  The king's personal barge, the Suphannahong (meaning Golden Swan), made from a single peice of timber, is the most spectacular of the boats.  It is reportedly the largest dugout boat in the world.  Barge processions, which were often held in past, happen only infrequently these days.

Getting there:
This Museum is located in Thonburi on the Khlong Bangkok Noi cannal just in from the west banks of the Chao Phraya river across from Ko Ratanakosin.  The easiest way to access the museum is to take the tourist boat cross the river departing from the Phra Athit Pier.

If you could not see the Royal Barges Processing on Chao Phraya River, it would be a Priceless Delight place to visit.
