Field
This flat-fielded 30-acre city-park is used for the bathing of monks during Songkran (Thai new year) and the Royal Ploughing Ceremony, where the King heralds the new rice-growing season every may.  During the rest of the year, locals use the park to fly kites, enjoy a family picnic, or play some sports activities.  In the past this field was used for the cremation of members of the royal family.  Admission is free.

Getting there:
This green area is located in the Ko Ratanakosin district right beside the Grand Palace.  It is easily accessed via river taxis stopping at the Than Chang pier.  Bus lines 30, 32, 47 and 53 all stop nearby.

I am Thai. Sanam Luang for me is.....
is a place for playing kites , parking car
- if a tourist want to visit Watprakao , Wat Po
Sanam Luang is suitable for parking because it is close to
temples as mentioned- , any kind of government events.
Personally , this place is not interesting but it is close to many interesting places. For instance , Wat prakao , Wat Po , Wat Rakang ( embark on a boat just 3 Baht at Tachang pier) , great restaurants along with Jaopraya river.
