The victory monument is a giant obelisk made of marble and reinforced concrete in the center of Thailand's busiest roundabout.  It was constructed in the early days of King Rama IX's reign right after a conflict with French Indochina in honor of the soldiers, policemen and civilians who gave their lives in the service of their country.

Getting there:
The monument is located in the square sectioned off by the Din Daeng, Phahonyothin, Phayathai and Ratchawithi Roads.  This area is a major hub for buses as well as the skytrain.

A beautiful monument (especially illuminated at night). A fitting tribute to the brave Thai citizens who sacrificed all for their country.
