This 1174 meter-long bridge crosses the Mekong river, joining Thailand with Laos.  It was was built in 1994.

Getting there:
This bridge is located just west of the town of Nong Khai.  It is easily accessed by sangthaew (about 15 Baht) or by bicycle.

Worth a look and if you get a Lao Visa in Khon Khan it is the easiest way to go over the border. Khon Kaen is a nice city to stay with hotels for every budget. Great night market good shopping and great food.
