From chiang mai you can go on a jungle trek on elephants and on a long raft built of bamboo and tied together with vines down a river winding its way through the jungle.[ you leave the elephants behind as the rafts are good but not  that good ] Its a four day trek staying in local tribal villeges you eat with them the food is good.
