This modern temple was built in 1972 and houses a large 12-high statue of the Buddha.  It is built on a small rocky island at the northeast end of Ko Samui and is joined to the main island by a causeway.

Spectacular Golden Buddha attop mountain. Unfortunately the site is ruined by gambling, coin machines and fake physcic toys. Also the sculpture is badly damaged and the surrounding area is dirty.
