Nov 14, 2008 Foiata must be one of the last pieces of paradise on Earth. This tiny island in the middle of the Pacific ocean is uninhabited, except for Feletti and Ma'ata (the Foiata Blue Lagoon Resort owners), their four children and the guests. The island is set at about 8 miles from the main island of Vava'u and can be reached by the owners' slow but steady boat. The resort has some 7 amazing traditional Polynesia "fales" (calling them "bungalows" would be stupid), all with different design and personality. Foiata enjoys a fabulous blue lagoon, ideal for swimming and snorkelling. From July to September, whales come to Tonga and it is possible to see them from the resort's restaurant. Talking about the restaurant, it's worth saying that Feleti is not only a fabulous guy, with a strong sense of humor and a warm heart, but he's also a great certificated chef who got his training in one of the best chef's academies in Europe.
