Horse carriages take you through narrow dusty streets lined by old stone houses. You feel the heat of the desert and then as if it’s magic the air becomes cool and you start seeing hundreds of Palm trees, figs and even shrubs and grass. There are canals of water, springs and wells. The oasis is made up of 300,000 date palms, where 70,000 are Deglat El Nour which is of supreme quality and it’s considered one of the best dates in world.
