This sheltered blue lagoon is world famous for incredible turquoise and aquamarine hues.  It is an official blue flag beach and is often rated as one of the top 5 most beautiful beaches by travelers and tourism experts.  Steep mountain-hills behind the lagoon only add to its beauty.  Its white-sand beaches are a great place relax and enjoy the sun.  The main beach area runs along both sides of a long sandbar that almost encloses the lagoon.  It is equiped with showers, restrooms, walking paths and small cafes.

It is also possible to do some incredible paragliding and parasailing off of the steep mount Baba nearby with spectacular views of the lagoon and surrounding mountainous coastline.

Unfortunately, numerous tourist resorts have sprung up nearby, so there can be a lot of tourist traffic, especially during peak summer months.

Getting there:
This lagoon is located about 8.5 kilometers south of Fethiye.  Buses leave very frequently (every 15 minutes during summer) between Fethiye and Oludeniz (cost of about $0.50 USD).

A magnificent beach. Very busy, very popular. Tons of restaurants and shops around, as this is tourist central. But the beach and water here is amazing. You really must try the paragliding though. For seeing it from a birds eye view it is even more impressive. The ride to the top of the mountain is almost more fun (and scary) than the paragliding itself.

I stopped here only briefly as we were sailing up the Mediterranean coast to Fethiye. The beach is almost as beautiful as it appears in photographs, but it was a little too club-med for me.

Most memorable! The color of the water was the lightest shade of blue I have ever seen! Great place to anchor off and swim to shore! Hector the ice cream boat man was hilarious!
