To me, the ancient city of Hierapolis is more impressive than the Pamukkale baths (travertines) that are nearby. While the Antique Pool and calcium cliffs draw the crowds, the sprawling Hierapolis complex with it's huge Theatre and ruins the spread over a large area are great to explore. Worth a full day to soak up the history. For photographers, go in later afternoon and stay until dusk.

Romans baths with a lot of visitors. You can take your bath too, eat or just relax...
