Ask your local guides to take you there; please remember it's about 4 hours by car from Ashgabat and 6 hours by car from Konya Urgench so...be patient :-)

Amazing crater in the middle of the desert, created about 30 years ago as an underground cavity exploded during a search for natural gas; it is 50m large and 20m deep and the natural gas in it burns ever since: during the night it really looks like the hell's door!! Stunning experience!! There is nothing there but the crater, no structures, so you will have to camp there, eat and drink vodka asking yourself where the hell (!) you are on earth...
