The Jane Austen Centre at 40 Gay Street in Bath is a permanent exhibition which tells the story of Jane's Bath experience - the effect that living here had on her and her writing.
The exhibition is enhanced during 2008 with 'Costumes from BBC's Miss Austen Regrets featuring the dresses worn by Olivia Williams as Jane Austen. The stunning costumes are the work of BAFTA and EMMY award winning designer Andrea Galer.

If you're a Jane Austen fan you'll really enjoy this museum. You'll get insight into how the cultures at the time influenced her writing and how she found inspiration during her time in Bath. Check out the tea room on the third floor if that's your thing (food in general is my thing, so I enjoyed it!), and definitely stop in the shop - the book selection is incredible! :)

This is a must see for any Jane Austen fan. The museum has a lot of information about her, as well as a large collection of information on her. The gift shop is stunning. More Jane Austen items together than I've ever seen before. Worth the visit!

My daughter and I both loved the tea party!! I'm sure Kate did too but she's not here to ask... I know we ALL loved the gift store and the correct pronunciation of BAWWWTH!
