I think Buckingham palace is a “must experience” especially, if visiting London . If you plan to see the changing of the guard, plan to get there early and find a good vantage spot. I was lucky enough to be right up front and I enjoyed the whole ceremony. It was absolutely awesome. Afterwards, I gad the opportunity to tour the palace. I cannot convey just how beautiful the palace is. The rooms were spectacular, some with gold ceilings; I saw huge masterpieces throughout the allowed areas. It was all so very magnificent. The tour was extensive and entertaining. Make sure to bring your camera. Also, take the time to visit the Royal Mews, the Queens Gallery, and the Guards Museum. It is worth the visit.

I think if you head to London, you have to go see this. If you go during the summer, you might be able to tour the palace (it's only open to visitors for two months every year). The Changing of the Guard Ceremony is pretty fun and when I went they played themes to movies and tv shows (Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, ET, etc.). If you don't go during the summer, check to make sure that the ceremony will actually take place. During the summer, the ceremony takes place just about every day as long as the weather will allow it. However, during the rest of the year, the ceremony is performed on alternate days (odd or even days depending on the month), so make sure. Also, get there early because it gets quite packed.

It.s a fantastic place to see! very busy but so much architecture to look at. The gardens at the palace are absolutely gorgeous and worth the look. I did the proverbial"doubledecker" tour, which was one way of seeing more than you probably would otherwise. I also went to London Tower but didn't go in to look around. It is rather amazing just from the outside

As a child in 5th grade Social Studies I gazed at the photo of the palace in my book. My teacher brought to life the people of the beautiful palace creating a longing to go there one day. I later grew up to marry an Air Force man and lived four years in London. Buckingham palace with all the art work, pagentry and location were a central part of my life there. A MUST SEE for anyone.

Well I have to add a comment after all my queen lives there....haha Now open to the public for sightseeing tours individuals can now see just how the royal family lives. Fantastic paintings, furnishings all in a regal style most of us only dream about. If you go to visit don't forget to check out the changing of the guards and bring your camera.
