Obviously this isn't the original as that burned down centuries ago. But the new Globe Theatre was rebuilt exactly as it had been in Shakespeare's time, with the same materials and the same tools. They show Shakespeare's plays there every day at 2 p.m., and they still have standing-room-only tickets. They not only allow you to bring booze in to watch a play, but they actually encourage it. The tours take place every 30 mins. until noon. In case you want to catch a play, globe.org/- http://www.shakespeares-globe.org/ .

I am one of the younger generation, so I wasn't really interested in a 3 hour play, but I did like the design of the theater. And knowing that it was used to perform the original plays by the god of playwrights, William Shakespeare, I really enjoyed learning the history of the theater. Guided tours are available, and there is a part of the theater for viewing relics of the theater.

No better way to see a Shakespeare play than in the Globe. I recommend buying a standing ticket. It's the cheapest way to go (10-15 pounds), not to mention a great experience because that's the way non-nobles did it way back when. Plus, how comfortable is it to sit on a hard bench for a couple hours?

LOVE the Globe Theatre. The tours are really good and it is cool to see and hear the history of the place. However if you want to see a play make sure you are in London during the summer, since it is open air, that is the only time they have plays there!
