Hyde Parks is one of the largest parks in London's center, covering an area of over 350 acres (625 acres if you include neighboring Kensington Gardens).  It is also one of London's Royal Parks.

Hyde Park embodies everything I love about London. You can do anything from walk your dog, people watch, have a picnic, watch a casual game of football (soccer), count the beautiful white swans while rowing through the pond, scope out the neighboring street fairs, admire the architecture of the buildings skirting the park such as the Royal Albert Hall, or take a stroll through the Royal gardens. And on Sundays you can listen to anyone and everyone get up on their soap box to preach at Speakers corner, or get in on the action. Best of all most of it is free. Everytime I go to London, I make it a point to see this beautiful park located in the middle of one of my favorite cities in the world.

I love Hyde Park (and Kensington Gardens). I used to live in London and nothing was better on a nice day than to head to Hyde Park and walk around or just laze around in the sun. My only suggestion is to watch out for the folding cloth chairs that are set up around the ponds. If you use one, you will be charged (they are rented out) and there is an employee who comes around to collect money. Another suggestion: DON'T FEED THE BIRDS!! The swans/ducks/pigeons, etc go crazy and you will most likely be attacked as my friends and I have witnessed on many occasions.

Hyde park is a very nice place to relax. When you are planning to go to London and still looking for accommodation (and you have some to spend) consider the Hilton at Park Lane which is just arount the corner of the Hyde Park Corner station. The four seasons at park lane is also a good option, and when looking for a more cheap option, take a look at the intercontinental also located on Park Lane.

After a day of endless shopping it's one of the most relaxing things to sit down in a canvas chair and let the sun shine on your high-heel-tortured feet. If you want to hang out with your friends, have a romantic walk with a qute boy on your first date or just sit down to think about something, there is no better place in London then the Hyde Park!
