Eilean Donan Castle is located on a small island (connected to the shore via a bridge) of the same name in Loch Duich in the Scottish Highlands. The setting of the castle is very impressive and postcard perfect, with the island castle and the mountains in the background. Eilean Donan was first built in the 14th century and then rebuilt in the 20th century after being abandoned since an 18th century uprising. You can view a couple of rooms filled with historical artifacts and admire the lochs from the ramparts. Eilean Donan Castle was also prominently featured in the movie Highlander.

es un sitio muy especial. como sabreis alguno de vosotros, se trata de uno de los castillos mas antiguos y mejor conservados de escocia, cuyo principal rasgo caracteristico se trata de que se encuentra situado en mediio de uno de tantisimos lagos escoceses y unido a la orilla por un puente. Para todos nosotros tb es conocido porque sale en el anuncio de iberdrola, spot emitido tras la adquisicion de Scottish Power por la empresa española. un sitio idilico

Eilean Donan Castle itself is beautiful, and the interior displays of the history of the castle and life as it was lived are really first class. The kitchen display is superb and the level of detail is extraordinary.

This was one of the coolest castles I have been to in Scotland. While here, there was actually a submarine in the loch that surfaced briefly. Old meets new -- so cool.

This is a lovely castle on the water. If you're going to the Isle of Skye, you'll pass by, so you might as well stop and look around. It is truely impressive.

Sehr schöne alte "Burg" auf einer kleinen Insel. Sehr schöne Gegend mit guten Möglichkeiten sehr gute Bilder zu machen.
