In the time before cameras this was genius! A series of mirrors reflects the scene of the Castle and street below into a white semi-sphere so that you essential see a moving picture. It was really interesting to hear the history of the place and the intreactive exhibits in the rest of the museum were fun too. I didn't know what to expect, but it was really neat!

An interesting trip up tot he obscura will lead you through a gallery of various illusions and optical oddities. Once a at the top of the building. The obscura room and camrea is fairly understated, with a small seating area around a bowl shaped viewing surface. The tech itself is old, really old. But the effect is quite amazing and definitely worth a visit.

I didn't have much expectations in advance. But the visit to Camera Obscura was one of the highlights of my trip to Edinburgh. Some really odd images could be seen. And you experience the tips and tricks of images and photography in an other way then usual. I was amazed several times. You will find it near Edinburgh Castle.

A bit random, but you go up in a tower and there's essentially a live action projection of the street below. Pre-dates cameras used to record.
