I live here when I'm not globe troting. To me its the best city in the world but not everyone would agree I'm sure. For the best Edinburgh experience go in August. One you'll get better weather hopefully and two the Edinburgh festival is on which has lots of things to see including theatre, comedy, music, dance and street performers around hundreds of venues throughout the city and some of it is free. There are things you can see all yr round as well including museums, the royal yacht britania and Edinburgh castle [a must]. Apart from that the nightlife at the wkends and throughout the whole of Auguat is good. There are pubs and restaurants everywhere.

This is one of the best shopping streets that I have seen...it has something to cater to everyone, and all the shops are mostly on one side of the street, so you don't have to worry abuot running into traffic. The waverly market is across the street and is worth a look as well.

cool street,love the princes street park. in summer its a great place to buy a few things then kick back and relax, and in the winter over hogmenade (new year for the non scottish) there is an ice skating rink in the park also!!

It's a shopping high street like many others. Though having a large public garden and the spectacular view of the castle while shopping certainly makes it a little special.

I used to work here :) This is the main high street with all the usual shops. If you want something a bit more scenic, just cross the bridge over to the royal mile.
