Aug 25, 2009 The Scott Monument is a Victorian Gothic monument to Scottish author Sir Walter Scott (not to be confused with the National Monument). It stands in Princes Street Gardens in Edinburgh, opposite the Jenners department store on Princes Street and near to Edinburgh Waverley Railway Station. I find it amazing, giving nice view of Edinburgh and nearby hills. The monument is very appealing itself, complex architecture and narrow stairs. Height is 61 metre. The highest viewing deck is reached by a total of 287 steps Jan 30, 2010 Climb it, do it, see it! Then get a certificate saying you did. The views are amazing and will help orient you if you go at the beginning of your trip. Not for those with a fear of heights or an extra large backside as the stairs get rather narrow. Jul 16, 2011 all those steps to the top are certainly worth it. The view of an already amazing cityscape is all the more spectacular. Take a camera, you will be snapping photo's. Jun 20, 2011 Definitely worth seeing! Go to the top to see most of Edinburgh! Very interesting and unusual monument to Sir Walter Scott.
