Beautiful encounter with nature in the mountains that is completely free and open for people to experience. I love driving up here at any season of the year... for photoshoots in the spring, hiking in the summer, blueberry-picking in the fall, and snowboarding in the winter! Gorgeous views of the mountains, wildlife, and—my personal favourite—the beautiful moss-covered stones. There is also the abandoned Independence Gold Mine (rumored to still have gold) that is open for tours and is a must-see.

Although, I only spent a brief time in this area, I must attest that the natural beauty is truly indescribable. It is a place to experience. My photographs failed to capture the beauty.
This was never a destination for me, only part of larger journeys. Perhaps, some day I'll pass that wat again. Chances are if I do, I'll slow down and take more advantage next time.

Good Journeys!

Great for either winter or summer seasons, entertaining many snowboarders and skiers in the area during the winter and full of hiking trails, lakes and cabins for the more mobile in the community during the summer.
