I love this place but there is no way I would ever be able to afford to stay here. Instead, my family and I went to dinner here one night. The food was fantastic (as you would expect) and the wait staff seemed completely dedicated to making the patrons feel welcome and appreciated. The hotel is supposed to be haunted (as my cousin informed me) and I know it was shown in the movie "Some Like It Hot". I loved going here and the shopping center that runs beneath the hotel was an added bonus. I also loved the bow tie chocolate covered strawberries :)

A national treasure as being one of the largest 'wooden' hotel buildings in the country. It's history is reminsecent of many visiting presidents and the site location for "Some like it Hot." with Marilyn Monroe. Coronado is also the location to North Island, which is a US Naval Base with amazing beaches, golf courses -- essentially a little city. The Coronado Bay Bridge is one of the most famous in the world and links the Island of Coronado to San Diego. I believe the tolls are still free.

Gorgeous hotel located on a beautiful beach. You don't have to stay there to enjoy it. If staying in San Diego, Coronado is a short drive away. Admire the hotel by walking its grounds and grab an ice cream at the hotel's ice cream shop to enjoy while looking out over the Pacific. A cheap and easy way to feel like you're staying there.

One of the greatest hotels I have ever been to. Everything there is excellent, restaurants, breakfast, lounge, service, beach, activities, ambiance. The only reasons, which stops it from being top-rated is the price and the people, who go there (very settled people or parents with their families). Well, that's probably because it is considered a resort hotel.

I was fascinated with this hotel. I loved the architecture, the haunted stories, the celebrities that visited. I am a big Marilyn Monroe fan, so kickin' around where she had been was exciting. The ferry ride to get to the island is a great way to view the San Diego skyline, especially at night.
