A great place to go with kids. The planetarium shows are a surprisingly affordable and fun and the new exhibits are entertaining (Step on different scales to find out how much you weight on each planet.) The best time to go for a view during the day is the day after a storm (which isn't very often), otherwise, you'll probably see more of the smog/haze than anything else. Regardless, it's still the best view of Los Angeles. Get there early to get parking, the lot is small. Otherwise, expect an uphill walk.

Rad place to visit if you've never been. Highly recommend the movie about the universe! Also really good views of LA if you go on a clear day and are able to see out to sea. Hiking paths near the Observatory and a fair amount to see inside as well.

very beutiful and quite a view from this observatory. interesting exhibits too. in the night hours, though, there can be a little too much crowd.
