Nov 16, 2008 Olvera Street should be included in any tour of LA, it's the site of the original Pueblo established by the Spanish in the 17th century. It's also located in the downtown, right across from Union Station and down the street from LA's Chinatown, which makes it a great beginning point for a day tour of LA. There's always something cool going on, and it's a great place to get a feel for historic LA before moving on to Hollywood and the West Side. They also sell alot of cool stuff in the little stands, like Laker ponchos and those little minature guitars. Nov 16, 2008 I'm not sure where exactly in L.A. this is but so far as I know it's pretty well known and shouldn't be hard to find. Olivera Street is a mexican marketplace where they sell all sorts of cultural items and some not so cultural things as I recall. While there's lots of different stalls and little shops it won't take a full day to see by any means. Still, it makes for a fun afternoon excursion. Oct 11, 2008 Found this place a bit chill and nice. I really liked the small art gallery - there was a tortilla art exhibit on while I was there. How great is that?
