I worked in Santa monica for a few years so i know. Santa Monica is a nice city. The 3rd street promenade is ok..there is just too many beggars and people wanting you to sign some petition for something. The beach is only good for the bike Path, thats it. it's Dirty, crowded and did i mention dirty. If you really want to go to a clean beach, try going half a mile up the coast to Will Rodgers State beach...it's HUGE and SUPER CLEAN....and its not even half a mile away from Santamonica Beach...you can take the bike path and it will lead you right to it. I'm sorry but going to Santamonica Beach is just not healthy or safe. I would Look north of santamonica if you really want to have a good day at the beach.

Santa Monica Beach is a good place to go for a bike ride. There's a path that stretches for 22 miles from Malibu to Torrance, and it offers excellent scenery and atmosphere as it winds its way along the beach.

Wonderful beach. I had a perfect weather to see that place with my girl. Recommend as a stop on your way along the cost!

great sun, nice people, hot sand... cold water! the best place to spend some time to relax

The promenade is an interesting place day or night. Beaches are great to relax at.
