Seal Beach. Home of a beautiful pier, beautiful housing and the worlds best ice cream shop. Just across the road from the pier, you can pick from the hugest selection of ice creams and have them all mixed together with all manner of toppings. It is sublime. I'd fly 11 hours just for this ice cream - and the Naples Rib Company down the road! :)

never been for the surfing but one of the only places i know of in california with a concentrated seal population, they're just laying on the beach and on top of each other trying to catch some sun. cool place but stay away from the seals, they are protected and get pretty grumpy if they happen to have babies near them. also whoever said a seal smells like roses?

perfect place to relax! quiet and peaceful. one thing people enjoy is the broken washed up shells on the beach... if your planing a visit bring a book, some water and a towel you'll be set for the day! PS not a party place people live on the beach side

Safe and Wonderful, This is where as a kid my elementary schools/day care would take us on our beach trips.
