Cannery Row
About Cannery Row
A waterfront street in Monterey, the street was so named due to the number of now defunct sardine canning factories located on the street. Today the street is a popular destination filled with shops and restaurants. The Monterey Aquarium is located on one end of the street.
Cannery Row was the setting for John Steinbeck's novels, Cannery Row and Sweet Thursday. Payment Accepted:

May 2, 2011 Cannery Row has a lot of history as being the beloved city of John Steinbeck. Because of this, they have a Steinbeck Museum located there. They also have wine tasting that you can do if you pay a small fee. It's kind of a nice experience to walk around, get photos of the bay and drink a little wine. If you're really interested in sea life, you can also stop by the Monterey Bay aquarium, although it is a bit over priced in my opinion.
