Oceanside Pier
About Oceanside Pier
Spanning 1,942 feet, Oceanside Pier is the longest wooden pier along the West Coast. It also holds the title as the longest over-water pier in Southern California. The pier was first built in the 19th century, then restored in 1987. The pier is a great place to enjoy the view of the coastline and catch one of Oceanside’s dramatic sunsets. You can fish from the pier and there is a bait shop available. Walk to the end of the pier for an old fashion ice cream treat at Ruby’s Diner. This is a fun place to spend a few hours or even all day.

Oct 23, 2009 Nothing beats a leisurely day walking Oceanside Beach and Oceanside Pier. Sunny, cloudy, windy, or rainy, it's always pleasant to walk along the ocean alone of with friends. There's a playground just north of the pier, fishing (and fishermen) all along it, and a Ruby's at the end. The beach at the pier is one of the first places I go anytime I'm back in Oceanside. Oct 19, 2009 I love the Oceanside Pier because growing up, when we would visit my grandpa at the beach house he lived in right off the ocean, we would walk to the Pier and relax as a family. There were always good memories there, and about then years ago, an awesome retro, 1950's diner-type restaurant. Here is a link with some info on the Pier: http://www.beachcalifornia.com/oceansi1.html Dec 12, 2009 It's fun to walk the pier and watch the fisherman. Plus there's Ruby's at the end of the pier and it's exciting to sit at a table in the restaurant and feel the pier rocking back and forth. Related Links
