I spent all day wandering the streets of China town. It is a hive of activity and the food is outstanding. Eating a steamed pork bun and walking the streets was so fun!

Largest Chinatown in North America so I had to check it out! And did I ever - I came here every single day of my 4 day stay!
It`s busy and big, lot`s of nooks and crannies and I don`t know if it`s the hills or the painted lamp posts but it definitely has it`s own feel seperate from other Chinatowns.

There`s one shop famous for its egg tarts aka custard tarts. I`ve always seen a lineup and apparently they sell out if you go too late. I tried one and it was definitely very good! I think the name was Golden Gate Bakery.. I hope someone can correct me!

Another favourite was a place that had amazing pineapple buns and I think it had to do with their irregular shape! They had dough in the shape of animals in their window if that helps.

Either way there is so much to discouver here - everything (food wise) is so cheap anyway that you can try a few places out =)

San Francisco's Chinatown is the oldest in North America. The Dragon Gate or Chinatown Gate entrance is located on Grant Street. Be prepared to walk up and down a lot of hills...this is San Francisco after all. There's plenty of shopping for "knock-off" items and restaurants galore. If you wander the streets of Chinatown around dinner, be prepared to be stopped at every restaurant and enticed in by pretty Chinese girls with restaurant menus and bargains.

First time I went to San Franciso I thought, well its part of the trip, but not my favourite place to go. I didnt know how wrong I was. It was one of the best places we went to. Seeing all the places was geat. One great place was Chinatown. You really feel like being in China, well probably just if you where never really in China, but still its great!

I thought it was so cool. I loved everyone there, they were all so friendly, they loved the travellers and tourists. I thought all the wares for sale were nicely priced and good quality. Its a bit of a hike or you can go by tram.....loved it!!
