Located at the edge of Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39 is a popular tourist destination filled with retail shops, a video arcade, the Aquarium of the bay, and more.  Among them all though, the most popular attraction at Pier 39 are the numerous sea lions that float on the docks.  It's thought perhaps the sea lions rest on the docs because they feel safer inside the Bay.

Very busy here which makes sense since it is a famous landmark! Mainly came here for more views of the city, bridge and you can see Alcatraz and take pictures. I thought the Sea Lions were so funny because they make lot`s of noise and look so content basking in the sun. Once in awhile one will push another one off!
It feels like a carnival when you`re walking through because of all the candy and there`s a merry-go-round.

Go to Point Bonita where you will have a better view of The Golden Gate Bridge. If your going to Fisherman's wharf try the food in Boudin. For a great view of the city and the bay, go to Russian Hill at sunset. YOur an hour away from Napa Valley so I suggest this as a must go to place to see the valley's charm. Fall is a good time to go which is in time for the harvest.

A tourist trap, but still one worth visiting. Plenty of tourist shops, but be prepared to negotiate for prices of some things or you will get ripped off. Lots of places to get food (don't leave without trying the Clam Chowder in a sourdough bowl!) and souvenirs and many bay tours are available.

Is just amazing follow the sunset "with" the sea lions on K Dock at Pier 39.
This is not an ordinary city. No, is much better. And the care given to those animals by locals or turists is somewhat an invisible and permanent magic chain.
