You can get of the Bart at Powell Street Station and you are right where the cable cars get turned around. walk up powell street, where there a lots of nice places to get some clothes shopping done. you can walk along powell street (up and over the hill) and you will end up at fisherman's wharf. Probably about an hours walk though.

Powell is the start of the cable car it's a great line It go's from the shopping mecca of Union square to the tourist central of the wharf.

Of course you have to try the Cable Cars. I also recommend Powell Street on a dreary, rainy day (for ambience).

Powell street is very nice like whole SF.
Union SQ is also nice, and loved shopping at macy's.
