May 15, 2010 Santana Row is a never development in San Jose featuring high-end shopping, a hotel, residential living, restaurants, nightlife, and a movie theater. The shopping and restaurant choices are great. My favorite dining establishments are Thea (Greek), Amber India (Indian), and Roux (Cajun). There are dozens of spas and salons at the Row too. For a high-end experience, visit Burke Williams at the Hotel Valencia. By purchasing a treatment, you have full access to their spa facilities which are plentiful! For a more budget-friendly option, InSpa has massages, facials, and nail treatments and has a no tipping policy! The only downside to Santana Row is parking. The traffic lights just to turn into the area get backed up and, once you're in, you can sometimes spend 20-30 minutes looking for a space. Unfortunately, the only public transport nearby is buses so car is usually your only option. If you can, try to avoid peak times (weekends, some weekday evenings) or allot a little extra time to finding a space. Or you can opt for valet (~$7 plus tip).
