3rd Street Promenade
About 3rd Street Promenade
A popular outdoor shopping area in Santa Monica close to the beach, 3rd Street Promenade is a great place to stroll. During the summers and on weekends outdoor street performances stretch along the street. Third street itself is closed to cars and is for pedestrians only.

Apr 15, 2009 This is a fun and colorful area to shop, stroll through and people watch. There are a few interesting looking restaurants, including a decent Thai/Chinese restaurant, and retailers such as JCrew, Gap, Diesel and Apple. There is also a really good architecture and art bookstore located nearby on Wilshire Blvd. called Hennessey Ingalls Inc. Art Architecture Books. If you're shopping or walking through the third street promenade area, this store is definitely worth a visit! Apr 15, 2009 Definitely a fun place to go to if you're in LA. It's close to the beach, and they have a large variety of restaurants and shops there. If you go on a weekend, there's also a lot of street performers. Finding street parking on a weekend is almost impossible though, so just prepare to pay a couple bucks to park at a garage and save yourself the time. Aug 26, 2008 Pedestrians only, pls! You can find almost everything you need to keep yourself busy for the entire day: shops, restaurants, movie theatres, free street shows, etc. I didn't give it full 5stars because I don't think there's a club there for the night owls. hehehe. Otherwise, it's an awesome site to while the time away. Nov 4, 2008 There are always street shows going on at 3rd Street Promenade, especially on the weekends: break dance crews, musicians, artists. There are shops, movie theaters, restaraunts and bars all down 3rd Street Promenade as well. It is not to far of a walk to go to the Santa Monica Pier from there either. Related Links
