A famous sidewalk along Hollywood Boulevard with over 2000 five pointed starts that celebrate both real and fictional characters. There are different types of emblems within the stars. The emblem types are:

Motion picture camera for contribution to the film industry
Television set for contribution to the broadcast television industry
Phonograph record for contribution to the recording industry
Radio microphone for contribution to the broadcast radio industry
Twin comedy/tragedy masks for contribution to live theater

The Walk of Fame was built in the 1650s as a way to improve the neighbourhood.

There isn't too much special to see along the walk - just a bunch of stars set into the sidewalk bearing the names of celebrities of various levels of fame. The most interesting parts are the street performers and the handprints and footprints in front of Grauman's Chinese Theater. There's some interesting history there.

It's really a bit of a disappointment. Everywhere is super crowded, so you really can't spend a lot of time to find your favorite star. Also, there's a lot of people in costumes wanting to take a picture with you for a tip. Hollywood commercialism to the max. If you go though, you need to stop by Beard Papa's for cream puffs at Hollywood and Highland. I first had it in New York and was so excited with it came to LA. It's a really great cream puff.

When I saw the Walk of Fame first - I was soooooo disappointed. Sure everything looks more glam in TV but seriously...the whole area is quite run down... I did my photos and left. Nothing what I would recommend but sure once in your life do the photo at the star of your favorite - in case you find it ;)

In the Walk of Fame you can have a really fun time.
Take pictures with your favourite celebraties stars, visit the Kodak Theatre and the Madame Tissaud Museum!
