For the aviation fans out there, like myself, this place is for you. As soon as you enter, Space Ship One to your right and an Apollo capsule to your left. That's when I knew I'd like it here! Simulators for carrier landings, a built-in Imax theater, numerous displays of famous aircraft and spacecraft, and my favorite, the gift shop. And once you're done with all that, or if you're tired and/or hungry, check out the massive cafeteria which offers several fast food flavors and even some of their own. Theres way too much to list here, but take my word for it, if you love aviation, take your time and as many pictures as you can fit in your camera!

There are two Air and Space Museums in DC. One is located on the National Mall and has a lot of great stuff. However, it is often very crowded and many of the displays are related to weather or navigation and require lots of reading. There is a second Air and Space Museum at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center near Dulles Airport. This museum is like a big hanger just stuffed full of airplanes and rockets and helicopters. It is not as crowded as the one on the Mall and I think it is much more interesting. It also has an IMAX and shows the same movies as the one on the Mall. I rate the Dulles Museum with 5 stars.

One of the must see places in Washington DC. The planes and space related specimens are just not worth missing out on so do make time for this wonderful exhibition of space and aviation history depicted beautifully for all to see. Lots of informative exhibits and panels with photos, models, films, etc.

I wasn't totally interested in this museum, but there are a few important pieces of history here such as the Wright Brothers Flier, one of Amelia Erhart's planes, and pieces from the first trip to the moon. I would say make the trip here, you'll be glad you did.

One of the best museums I've ever been to. It is, at the same time, very interactive (you can get inside aircraft replicas, play games) and also very informative. Learned a lot and have lots of fun. I'm not the museum kind, but this one is definitely a must.
