many folks have reviewed this place and will again. it goes without saying. just go to the lodge and eat, it is a landmark. get the fries. have the onion. there is nothing bad on the menu. and check out that view!!!!! the price is a little high, but bearable. the people make up for it. and it is not really a lodge, but looks like one. just relax people, get in the moment...what do you expect halfway up a volcano?

On the way up to Haleakala Crater you'll go through a little town called Kula. You can't miss it. This place has the best protea farm so it's great for pictures and they also sell the most amazing pineapple wine. be careful the stuff tastes almost to good. you might get a little to crazy if you take this to the beach with you.
