The Hancock Observatory is a place to see the whole area around Chicago. You have a view until Wisconsin! You get a pocketguide with a display and on every window you can listen to different stories and facts about the buildings and the town! There is also a children's version. - Don't forget your camera - you'll need it!

J ohn Hancock Center at 875 North Michigan Avenue in the Gold Coast area of Chicago,Illinois, is a 100- story,344 m tall skyscraper and was named for John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company, a developer and original tenant of the building.
The panorama from the skyscraper is incredible!

Up at the last floor of the Hanckok building in downtown Chicago, near the water tower there is a nice lounge bar in wich you can have a drink at night before dinnere with a magnificent view of the city and the lake....when the weather is not too foggy...

Personally, even though the Sears Tower is a must see - it's huge and the elevator ride up is an experience in and of itself - the view from the Hancock Observatory can't be beat, and MUCH better than the view from the Sears Tower - highly recommended =)

I love viewing cities from so high! Do it early on in your trip so you can get an idea of the size of the city and also where things are. It has tons of info on places to go and see on the audio guide (Ross from Friends is the voice on the audio tape!!)

I really love this place! The view from this high building is amazing! I was so impressed to see the whole city and the Michigan Lake. And the $18 dollar are really okay for this attraction.
Enjoy the fantastic view!
