Home to Mamoth Cave, the longest known cave system in the world, Mammoht Cave Park was established in 1941 and became a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1990.

Mammoth Cave is a limestone cave with over 365 miles of passageways with new discoveries every year.  Famous features of the cave include Grand Avenue, Frozen Niagara and Fat Man's Misery.  Among the different tours, the Echo River Tour is one of the most famous - the tour is taken along a boat ride via an underground river.

We did the Niagrafall-walk, which was great. The beginning of the walk was a bit boring, but things changed after the beginning. Impressiv!!
You book into a tour directly at the visitorcenter and a bus brings you to the startpoint.
There is a campground close by.

Solid, awesome caves. I believe it is the largest cave structure in the states next to Carlsbad. Carlsbad is a little cooler, but if you are in the southeastest area I would strongly reccomend it... let's be honest, you need something to do in Kentucky

I would love to go back and see another tour! The tour guide was very knowledgeable and made the whole thing interesting. You would think that just walking through a cave would be dull but there was so much to see and learn about the place!

HUGE caves to explore! Guided tours are excellent. As always, be prepared to get dripped on and wear a light jacket since the caves are always a bit cool. Listen to the Park Rangers...please don't touch the formations!

Wonderful park, the cave goes without saying! There are great trails on the surface to enjoy, bike trails and hiking. The Green river runs through the park, it's just a wonderful place!
