Oct 29, 2008 While Detroit deserves its reputation of being a "bad" city, the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) is a hidden gem. The museum is gorgeous, made of white marble, and full of famous works of art. It's large enough to wander around for hours, but small enough that you feel like you've seen everything before getting too bored. It is very safe inside and well worth a visit if you are in the area. Jul 21, 2011 Great museum...has a lot of activities for everyone from art classes to friday night jass music to sunday arts and crafts for kids. The museum offers a great selection of art from traditional to contemporary. Exhibits are done very well. The museum itself is historic and there is a huge courtyard painted by Diego Riveira...doesnt get much better than that!
