Saint Louis Zoo
About Saint Louis Zoo
When I visited the zoo this summer, I was pleasently suprised. All the animals seemed to have enough space to move (still not enough, in my opinion, but better then most zoos I've been to!), and seemed happy.
The zoo itself is free to enter, which I was really thrilled about! There are lots of different animals to see, and pleanty of resturants. Bathrooms were clearly listed on the map! Parking was a bit hard to find, but I did go on a weekend. There is a really nice park within walking distance, for picnics and such! Payment Accepted:

May 19, 2009 The St Louis Zoo is a great place to be on a cool day. First, admission is free - so if the weather doesn't cooperate, or the animals aren't entertaining, you aren't out a whole lot of money. Second, the day I went was incredible - I saw more activity from the animals that day than all my other trips to many other zoos combined. One of the zebras brayed, a baby giraffe and big ostrich were playing with each other, a little gazelle was running and jumping around its enclosure, the chimps and orangutans were very entertaining, and the tigers and jaguars were all out and about for us to see. Great day at the zoo. All the enclosures are designed so that even when the animals are resting in a cave, you can almost always see them. We didn't see any lions, though - not sure where they were. I highly recommend the St Louis Zoo. Dec 12, 2009 Okay maybe I'm biased since I missed this city so much. But truly, St. Louis Zoo is one of the best zoo in the U.S., and they have free admission. One thing I would like to point out is that the zoo have this Winter Wonderland festival of lights during christmas time (this time you'd have to pay a small admission fee) where the zoo will be open at night and they have beautiful lights all around the zoo. I loved it and have never missed it every year I was there! Related Links
