It's not the best hotel in Vegas but the price is good and it's in a great location. Stay in the towers they are nicer rooms than the pyramid.

Nice place to stay. Be ware of the elevators, esp if you have had a few drinks. They move at an angle.

The Luxor was a very interesting experience. From the design of the hotel and individual rooms (since they have to conform to the pyramid shape) to the decor of the place, it made for a very unique experience. I would like to try the Venetian next time and see how it is. I visited it and it was very neat. You can do well in Vegas for food if you like buffes since they have them practically everywhere. Taxi rides can get expensive as far as travel goes but I cannot imagine trying to navigate traffic in Vegas or the surrounding area since it is insane. If you want to gamble, we were clued in by a local, go gamble at some of the hotels off the strip as they have much better odds of winning than the big hotel/casinos right on the strip. There are TONS of shows to see and things to do daily/nightly/anytime just about and it is generally quite hot there during the day. All in all, it was a fun place to go and I'd love to go again.

Vegas is great... depending on what you are looking for. It can be family friendly, with a plethora of concerts and broadway-esque shows. And it also panders to the debauchery that helps it earn the "Sin City" nick name. As it has be refered to, it is Adult Disneyland, with all the hotels along the strip serving as different "lands" that you can visit. Point of advice: enjoy the buffet before you blow all your cash at the tables or slot machines.

This is where I stayed, and loved it. Our window looked out over the sphynx. The inclinators are super fun. I saw countless peopel fall over or lose their balance in these special elevators. The rooms are great and the gambling here is average, we gambled at Mandalay Bay and other hotels mostly.
