Grand Central Terminal ( GCT , often popularly called Grand Central Station or simply Grand Central ) is a terminal station at 42nd Street and Park Avenue in Midtown Manhattan in New York City . Built by and named for the New York Central Railroad in the heyday of American long-distance passenger trains, it is the largest train station in the world by number of platforms : [3] 44, with 67 tracks along them. They are on two levels, both below ground, with 41 tracks on the upper level and 26 on the lower.

One of the highlights of the trip to NY was a visit to GCS. The clock in the centre of the concourse is iconic and the building itself an architectural wonder..You just have to visit it if you are fortunate enough to be in NY

The food court downstairs has a large variety of great food. And don't forget to look for the one uncleaned ceiling tile in the main hall!

Try the Grand Central Oyster Bar fro some fabulous seafood/oysters in a great setting! Hyatt next door good locations to stay :)

Absolutely gorgeous. The whispering room is a lot of fun and the market place is a joy to walk through.
