While this place is very popular around Christmastime, I still think it is well worth the trip. The tree looks absolutely beautiful. Ice skating there can be fairly expensive, but if its something you haven't done before, you should do it at least once in your life. Try going midweek (and early in December) to avoid the really large crowds. Children especially will love skating in the plaza, and the surrounding shops with their elaborate window displays.

Rockefeller Center in NYC is the ultimate place to spend a Christmas vacation, if you are heading toward that area of the country. The ice skating, the temperatures, the Christmas tree, which is huge, and the decorations are so much to take in and to remember for every other Christmas after that. Memories are made of places like this.
