This is the best deal in NYC! Take the Staten Island Ferry and your camera for some of the best photos of NYC from the water. It's a lot cheaper than the "Circle Line" cruise. Not much to do in Staten Island unless you live there so don't get off the ferry, just return to Manhattan. You'll have a blast! In addition, the Staten Island Ferry is a piece of movie history and has been featured in many films including one of my favorites, "Working Girl."

My favorite summer activity is taking the Staten Island Ferry over to watch the Yankees AAA baseball team play. The ferry is free (and serves cheap cans of beer onboard), and the ballpark is right on the water. Beautiful ride over, beautiful stadium, and the entire evening will probably cost you about $30 for two people - including hot dogs at the park!

The ferry is actually for commuters from Staten Island, so it's for free - also for tourists. It runs all 20 minutes from downtown Manhattan (Battery Park) to Staten Island and back. You will have a great view on Manhattan, Statue of Liberty and Brooklyn Bridge - all for free and with al real New York feeling :-)

One of the few things instantly recognizable with Staten Island. The ferry ride is free and gives great views of NY harbour and the Statue of Liberty, Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Jersey City Skylines! It's about a 30 minute ride slightly less and there is usually a small cafe aboard the ferry.
