What's There:
Description:
Located on a small 12 acre island, and facing out towards the ocean, the Statue of Liberty Enlightening the World is a universal symbol of freedom and democracy. It was a gift of friendship from the people of France to the people of the United States, dedicated on October 28, 1886, and designated as a National Monument in 1924. The statue itself is 46m tall, but reaches a total height of 93m thanks to being mounted on a pedestal and foundation. The statue receives over 4 million visitors every year.
Getting there:
The only way to get to Liberty Island is to go through the Statue of Liberty - Ellis Island Ferry system departing either from New Jersey or the southern end of Manhattan Island.

It's very much about the Statue, but not so much talk about what's arounf it. It's a real tourist attraction, a big souvenir shop at the back, and the line to go out there is huge! bring a chair, and be there in time so you don't miss Ellis Island, very interesting, but if you're too late, the boat won't take you there!

It is a place that every body feels it belongs to them, for what it represent and its majestic view. The lady Liberty is a queen in her own right.
